What I love most about my home is it's potential. My husband and I (with 2 kids) bought our first house less than a year ago and I love the fact that it's our and we can do whatever we want with it. It has a large unfinished basement that we can make into a big family room and a big yard for the kids to run around in. When looking at houses we agreed not to focus on things that can be changed, like paint colors or carpeting, but to find a house with a nice, open floor plan, enough room for our family to grow in, etc. It seems silly to buy or not buy because of decorating tastes. Anyway, i'm a 31 female.

I guess that it is big enough that we are not tripping over each other, We added on a BIG family room which has been great with 3 teenagers in the house. I'd like my bathrooms to be bigger and the kitchen a bit wider.

the colors. I have painted the main living area a warm golden tan and the dining room a lighter version of that color. It's a warm soothing color and I love coming home.
I am very uncomfortable in plain white rooms. They are cold, sterile and a complete turn-off to me.

I liked the bold colors the owner had painted. My bedroom is eggplant purple- even on the ceiling. It sounds awful but looks beautiful. I love my purple cocoon. It makes me feel restful and safe.

The thing I love about my house is it is my house..I own it and I have decorated it in a warm country lakeside theme (as I live on a lake).
