I mean would you class humans as animals?

From everything I've seen and heard.....it's my opinion that the dolphins are the smartest. I'm not saying there aren't other smart animals.....there are! But I just believe it's dolphins.

There are various ways to measure "smartness".

Humans are very good at scoring well in tests designed by other humans, which test things like being "self-aware" - being able to recognize your reflection. Elephants, chimps, and dolphins can also do this. Humans seem best able to think abstractedly however, and use "logic" to solve problems.

But remember all human-designed testing is subjective.

If you're looking to measure which animal can recognize and track the greatest number of scents, than any dog would leave a human in the dust.

Animals are experts in their own specialized ways.
