I have used cover-girl (remarkable washable waterproof mascara) for years. It is in a purple tube. It stays on for hours without smudging and washes right off in the shower.

I like the Red Earth mascara. It doesn't seem to smudge. You can get it at Shopper's Drug Mart (in Canada).
