Flash Drives are Plug-and-Play for 2000 and XP, for ME you will need to load drivers. I recommend buying a stick that comes with a drivers disk. Some of the really cheap ones do not come with a disk and you have to hunt on the web for drivers.

Load the drivers BEFORE plugging the stick in. Win 9x-ME had a habit of seeing new hardware wrong. Once it sees the stick wrong getting it to see it right can be a chore sometimes. I have spent many hours in REGEDIT fixing those problems.

When USB ports first came out there was not total agreement on how they would work. I have run into problems on some older PCs not wanting to work with various USB devices such as printers, camera's or flash drives. In those PCs I install a PCI card with USB 2.0 ports and then has always fixed it.

Its plug and play, you should just be able to plug in into any computuer and it will identify it and you can view all the files on there. To put files on just drag and drop.

It should be as simple as that, hope that was the answer you wanted!

They are dirt cheap aswell, you can get a 1GB flash drive for about £10 on ebuyer!

They are coming down in price...not that long ago, I bought a one GB flashdrive and paid around $75.00 for it at a warehouse store...now, one with that much storage is going for about half the money...there are some that even hold 10 GB...

A good brand is SanDisk
