That's a really dumb question.
...however...I'm 94% sure that if that were to take place, the entire earth would be thrown off it's axis and slip into a black void in outer space. I'm only saying this b/c I'm pretty sure the Yankees and Red Sox swapping hometowns is one of the seven signs of the apocalypse.

Most certainly that would be the case for those fans who agreed to the switch. My question would be, what would the existing yankee and sox fans consider themselfs? the very least, they would be confused. Hopefully they will continue going to the ball park and watch baseball. lol :)

That is not historicaly posible, so that is not a problem we need to worry about. Plus Derek Jetter and A-Rod are still awsome even if they were on the Red Sox.

you asked the question so i'm going to answer it unlike these other jerks... i think the Yankees fans would stay Yankee fans and boston fans would stay Boston fans (if they remained the idiots that they are)... within the next few generations tho, i think the fans would eventually go for their home team...
