The 27-year-old former star of the TV comedy "Moesha" was not injured, but the driver of the car she rear-ended with her Land Rover in the December 30 crash died, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The victim was identified as Awatef Aboudihaj, 38, a married mother of one, said CHP spokesman Leland Tang.

No charges or arrests have been made in connection with the accident, and no formal determination has been made as to what caused the crash, which was first reported by the celebrity news Web site TMZ.com.

I'll agree with you on that. Some kind of charges, and her insurance should come up with a PILE of money to compensate that family.

Too much consideration is given to famous people, who seem to believe the rules aren't for them.

When I first saw this I thought Brandy had died. It lured me into looking at the whole piece to see how old she was. Then I saw she's alive but has killed someone ('the driver of the car SHE rear-ended with her Land Rover in the December 30 crash died, according to the California Highway Patrol').

I think she should be charged. You're right.

I have mixed feelings about it. They did say that Brandy was not under the influence and I'm sure she certainly didn't intend to cause the accident. On the other hand, I don't think people take driving as seriously as they should. They don't look at the road, not paying attention, chatting on their cell phone. I honestly believe this was a very unfortunate accident and I'll bet Brandy is feeling really really horrible about it (I know I would).

If there were alcohol or drugs involved, then yes....she should be charged. Was she speeding? If she was speeding, then that should also be a factor. Was she using her cell phone? If none of the above, then it was just a tragic accident that couldn't be helped. If she was doing any of those I mentioned, then absolutely she should be held accountable.

Wasn't she looking? If she did then she wouldn't have killed a mother. Poor kid, imaging him'her growing with his/her mom. I think Brandy should get charged but who knows what happens when you're a celebrity?

She will probably get sued. In most states if you rear end someone then the accident is automatically your fault.

No charges have been made because they are investigating vehicle malfunction. Once the investigation is finished, then they will decide.

Indeed! That's vehicular homicide or unintentional manslaughter at least. Drunk, sober it doesn't matter. She liable. Poor Brandy, I bet she's devastated and at home... Alive...

It's normal for things like that to land on TV.
