Imodium (loperamide) is available over the counter.
BUT- if you have a fever- you should NOT take any medication- bacterial infections run you the risk of endotoxins released by the bug, and you don't want to keep the toxins in.
SO- if you have no fever, and are still running to the loo, here's what you should do:
2 loperamide right away, then take another after each loose stool; maximum daily dose is 16 mg, so read the box carefully.
Stay hydrated; water, teas, FLAT ginger ale (replaces sugars=energy), some people recommend sports drinks like Gatorade to replace electrolytes, but I am not a fan.
As you begin to feel better, do the BRAT Diet- bananas, rice (plain), applesauce and tea. Let your poor gut heal before hitting the fats and harder-to-digest foods. Avoid coffee, oily or greasy foods, roughage and spice for a few days.
Hope you feel better!

drink an electrilite solution like pedialite and avoid drinks hi in sugar and dairy products.for 24 hours then start on foods like applesauce or bananas and jello; as you improve you can add more bland foods like toast ,potatoes cereal rice. Continue to drink the pedialyte until the diarrhea is gone.

Imodium. works like a charm. don't take to much though. i took too many one time, and couldn't poop for a week. you can get it over the counter. don't eat blueberries...they will just make you poop more.
