Always break the chain.
Chain letters play on your good nature.
There is a website devoted to collecting together chain letters and supporting people in breaking the chain. I have included the link below.

Yes they are hoaxes that manage to draw in even gullible adults. Out of the thousands of people who receive these mails, something bad is bound to happen to a few of them. It is coincidence and has nothing to do with their not answering the mail. The same is true of those who do answer. Some will have bad things happen to them and some will have good. Most peoples lives will go on normally.

Break the chain. Do not send them on. I have a friend who is always sending these ridicules chains and I roll my eyes and stop the nonsense. No bad luck will befall you, if anything, you will start having good things happen because you no longer fall victim to the delusional beliefs of the sender.

Chain mail? If I told you that you didn't ask 10 different questions in the next ten minutes you we're going to suffer from a skin rash. Would you ask ten more questions? It's made up. Don't worry about it.

I try not to tempt fate and the truth is that good people and friends do not send these things to you, and if you send it on you are only bringing grief on the people that you send it to, therefore doing a bad deed and when you do bad things they come back at you multiplied.

I would delete chain mail immediately, no nothing bad can happen to you personally but sending and receiving them can create problems with your computer. Some people hide viruses in them.

I believe that a curse is attached to them even if you go ahead and do what the email says to do, so I delete them as soon as I get them, nothing as ever happen.

Chain letters are probably the original 'urban legends.' I just ignore them.
