I have to say Scottie Pippen's.... Because Scottie have more rings and they both won thier rings the same by having a dominate player lead them. They both were second option(Robin), neither led thier team to win a championship, and niether won finals mvp..... Scottie also has had better success then Kobe without playing along side thier dominate leader. When MJ retired after the first 3 peat, Scottie led the Bulls to the eastern con. finals, much deeper then what Kobe got without Shaq.... Kobe missed the play-offs the 1st year & got put out the 1st round the 2nd year. Scottie also got countless defense awards(known to be a all time greatst player on defense), he's in the top all-time 50, 2 gold medals, the 1st time MJ retired he got MVP of the all-star game, he wasn't great at it but he could score, he can play pg, sg, or sf, and he learned from the greatst player ever(MJ)...... Now those are my reasons why Scottie's legacy is better then Kobe's.

OK, OK let us all exalt the fact that
Scottie Pippen rode the coattails of MJ. There is something that I I must say before i answer your question; getting on my "soapbox", if you will.

Scottie Pippen was never the most prolific scorer in the NBA; but the amazing things that he accomplished on the court (both offensively and sure as hell defensively)SHOULD NOT be overlooked. Just because he was overshadowed by Jordan doesn't mean that he was not great, because he truly was. In all honesty, ANYONE who thinks that Jordan would have won the rings WITHOUT Scottie is full of ****. Not to ruin your post and I am not blaming you by any means, I just hate it when people downplay Scottie's abilities. He was truly great, give him the damn credit he deserves without comparing him to MJ and his success. I had an argument about that today.

Now that I got that out of the way------

I agree with you! It is hard to really say how much of a legacy Kobe will have, because he is still active, unlike Pippen who just retired last year. As of now, Pippen has more post season success that Bryant (and on 3 different teams, may I add), so i guess it is safe to say that Pip has a better legacy. But Kobe is the truth like Jesus walking on water; I am sure he will have just as much, maybe even more that Pip if the right team forms in LA.

I strongly disagree. Scottie will be known as a role player and a very good one. Kobe is hands down the best player in the league today. Kobe will be compared to Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson. Scottie does not have the personality that Kobe has. Kobe is also very complimentary of his collegaues. Scottie does have more rings. Both players have been coached by Phil Jackson and I think Kobe would get The Zen Masters vote over Scottie.

You made some interesting points. In response to team and not making the playoffs, Scottie didnt have the entire team changed on him like Kobe did. Horry, Malone, Payton, Fisher, and Fox all left. And then you traded the rest away to get new personnel. As far as the all-time 50 is concern, that is not a good point b/c Tim Duncan is not on that list and he won all his championship as the head hancho. Does that mean Scottie is better? I doubt it. Kobe will probably be there if you re-do that list as well as Duncan. Gold medal, Kobe never played in the olympics, so can't even compare. I would probably agree with you that Scottie played with the greatest player ever (MJ), but that's about it. GO Wizards!

Scottie Pippen has the better legacy. He won 6 rings, played along side Michael Jordan, mastered the triangle defense without being selfish, almost carried the Bulls to the finals without Jordan in 1993, Eigth-Time Defensive All-Defensive Team (played both sides of the court), MVP like Kobe. Read his stats on NBA.com, http://www.nba.com/history/players/pippen_summary.html

I pick Jordan's 63 points against the 1st place Celtics in 1986 than Kobe's 81 points against the last place Toronto Raptors. Think about it?

Jacob Kobe and Wade also play in an era where the rules are specifically designed to favour perimeter players and get them to the line. Jordan's era were allowed to pound him into the floor without anything more than a personal foul a la Pistons and Knicks and he still dominated in a way Kobe can only dream about

Kobes is better because when he lost Shaq he is still the best player in the NBA,when Pippen lost Jordan his career went down hill FAST.
