Would it be proper to put it in quotes or underline or what? I know that it will probably vary and I should have asked my teacher but I didn't think of it. So in general, what is the proper way thats usually used?

Underlined like a book or magazine title. If you are talking about the name of a particular show in a series Like Heroes episode 4 "John finds a Clue" (obviously not real) you underline Heroes and put quotes around the episode name like you would a magazine article.

If you are going to just simply list the title of a movie, tv show, magazine, book, or something else you should italicise it, if you are going to quote one of your sources you should put these in " befor and after your sentence(s). Also it does vary from teacher to teacher, but most of them like or prefer this way. Also some will ask you for a works cited page which is a little different so I wont getinto that for now, but in general speaking if you do this you should be fine, unless the teacher noted otherwise. Always a good idea to check and ask the teacher they are there to help you. Good luck and God bless.

TV shows, because they're shorter, should be in quotation marks. A movie, because it's longer, should either be in italics or underlined. Book titles are the same as a movie.
