You're so right. I'm one of those who always would say that, too. But if you sit around and wait, next thing you know, life will have passed you by.

Sometimes the cook or other 'guests' messed the first meal up.
Takes a while to know how to cook it right, and how to appreciate it.
I'm not sure I'd actually appreciate a bad meal cooked by a scared-to-death young bride burning her first stew and her hubby, hungry, tries to stomach it but sneaks it to the dawg! Sheesh!

Perhaps the wise man waits until he knows what is good himself and how to attract a good cook! Leftovers can be finely distilled, like fine wine or cognac, savored slowly.
