Dunno what everyone is talking about. Almost a quarter of the stuff that you "bleed" during your period is brown. The brown stuff is the lining of your uterus that sheds normally along with the blood. It's super gross but totally normal. During your first period it will be mostly brown, especially on the first day. If there is only one tiny spot though, it could be well, something else. If you don't get more within 24 hours, it probably isn't your period. I wouldn't worry about it. When you do get your period, it will feel like discharge. That's how people know they have it, like without looking, they're like, "oh I got my period." It's quite obvious feeling and looking.

That is your first period!! Congratulations. When you first get your period you normally get some light brown discharge. Just keep putting on a pad or keep using a tampon until it stops.
Conrats and good luck.

First periods are weird...the brown stuff was dried blood. You probably had a lot of discharge because your body was preparing for it. Put on another pad tommorow and see what happens...
P.S. If you had pads already, your mom was probably expecting it...so just tell her!
Good luck, and congratulations!

Congrats and welcome to woman-hood! Yes don't worry, mine started the same way, i was extremely tired, but only spotted then over the next few days, it came! Don't be scared, although i will be honest, it gets old having your "friend" come once a month for five days long for the rest of your life. Try birth control to help regulate your periods as well, For most girls it comes whenever it pleases, sometimes its nice to know when!

probably your period, but if you don't start bleeding normally (red, not brown) you should see your doctor. it may be some kind of infection. give it a few days to see, though.
