Personally, I would stop the Depo and start on another form of birth control. Even the Depo literature says it can take a long time to get your fertility back. For me, I was on it for a year with some bad side effects. Once I went off, it took more than a year for things to get back to normal.

Lots of women love depo and it is right for them. It was awful for me. In your case and given your desire to get pregnant fairly soon, I think stopping (with the knowledge of your doctor) is the best decision.

It is rare for Depo to interfere with your normal cycle returning for a long period of time. Most women get there period back in under a year and have been taking it for longer then you. I would go for the last shot and you should be ready to concieve in the fall.

For myself I did Depo for 4 years, stopped, got my period back in 3 months and conceived almost a year to the day of stopped. Right when i wanted to. A girl that I work with did depo for 3.5 years and it took her 18 months to get her period back. If your period doesn't come back for a long time it can be devasting if you have been waiting for a baby. But the depo itself does not cause fertility problems once your period is returned to normal.

However, after re-reading your question, I don't believe you've been taking the same Depo-Provera as I was, since I've only ever heard of it being a shot every 3 months. If you're had two shots in two months I actually have no idea what birth control you are taking so I'm not sure how to advise you.

Sorry I couldn't be more help.

However, from people I've talked to, it's my observation that people that have bad side effects with depo usually take a long itme to get their period back. I had no side effects aside from I'd be sick for the first 2 days after my shot, this is normal for an intramuscular injection of most any type.

I wouldnt get it...I mean after the first few months of taking the depo shot u gain a lot of weight,u should save that part for the baby =)

since u have already had 2 shots you should be good..I would suggest u aim for pregnancy at the beginning of the next month between the 9th and the 16th...try to have sex every other day (not everyday) and have sex preferably missionary position..after sex lay on your back with your legs up in the air for 10-15 minutes....for better chances have your husband wear loose fitting boxers while trying to concieve..these will give u the best shot of getting pregnant very soon. I used all of these and got pregnant within 1 month of trying...Good Luck and I hope u get the baby u want!!! =)

I took my last depo shot in May 2006 and pregnant by August 2006, so you may want to forgo this shot or your next dose. I thought my pregnancy happened pretty fast based on most said it would take like a year. I hate the depo! If you have been on the depo for 2 months why have you already had two shots, depo is only given every 3 months?

I had been on teh Depo shot for 2 cycles like you. we then tried to get pregnant and found after 18 months of trying that the depo shot had stopped my body from ovulating. I had to take clomid to get pregnant. I would stop taking the shot now and use the pill till you decide that you want to get pregnant.

STOP.... TTC aside, depo caused all kinds of problems for me, I now look at it as if saying to myself how good can something be for you if it completely stops a normal function of the body..

I ended up with ovarian cysts, a tumor, and cervical cancer thanks to depo. run while you can

Good luck
