For less than $620 its a great deal I would see If you could get 1GB of DDR ram memory and 120GB hardive other than that its Awesome deal for a little over $600

I agree with troubled3. You should mention the price. I reckon if it is below US $1000, it is OK.
It should be alright for college. If your willing to spend 1099 for a MacBook, or 1999 for MacBook Pro, plus Windows plus external microsoft compatible mouse, it'll be better.

I would suggest the MacBook Pro, as the MacBook overheats. However, it is expensive.

So here are 2 of my recommendations-

MacBook - $ 1099

HP Pavillion notebook. At around 1000 $s, you should get a good Core 2 Duo one with 512 mb/1gig RAM, 120 gig HDD.

Hope this helped.

Hi there! I think this is quite a good laptop for your needs. Just a couple of suggestions. First get one with 1GB memory. You might need it. Next if you can still spare try to buy one with a three (3) year warranty. That will give you peace of mind. Good luck and hope I helped a little! Cheers!

Pretty decent for the price. This is not a high performance machine however. It it will suit your needs for a couple of years though there is no reason to pass it up.

Good luck.

It certainly isn't the greatest laptop on the market, but for what you described using it for it will be more than adequate. Although you may want to consider getting a bigger hard drive (100gb or so)

You might want to ask one of your professers, maybe take it to them and ask for suggestions, they would be the ones that would know...
