We just got back from a three week vacation in India with our 10 month old. The whole time I was wish I'd brought the pack n play! We could have checked it in as luggage (be sure to put your name, address, and phone number on the pack n play like a luggage tag).
Ours is easy to transport because it has wheels. No more of a pain than a suitcase. We actually took it on our first vacation for July 4th weekend when our son was 4 months. He slept wonderfully in it!
To help him along I had him alternate naps in it. I also had him napping in different rooms of the house. I was afraid he'd get used to the lights and sounds of his room and have trouble sleeping while on vacation.
Our pack and play came with a bassinett. It just sets on the floor. So, if you decide you want to use it you can just plop it out.
Also, many hotels and bed and breakfasts have a pack n play if yours gets lost in transit as we had to do this fall in San Fransisco. Our son was 7 months at that time and he slept okay in it. It was different than his (smaller) but after a night of adjusting he was fine.

Pack n Play is the most economical in the long run. It's extremely useful, as it can replace a bassinet and crib, and can be taken with you on trips. Cover the mattress in it with a mattress pad made for pack n play, and then with a bottom sheet. That will make it plenty firm. Dress the baby in a wearable blanket and then remove all other blankets and stuffed animals from the area, which doctors recommend. A family I knew used a pack n play for their 2 year old until he got a regular bed- he never had a crib. It's lower to the ground so less chance of getting hurt if they climb out. Good luck!

Take the pack n play. The mini co sleeper isn't too portable since it's hard to set up and take down.

If you already own both, take the bassinet. It's smaller, and won't take up as much space on the plane or at your destination. If you don't own either yet, get the pack-play. You'll use it till she's 2. It's still relatively small when folded up; you'll just get more use out of it.
Have a safe and fun trip--

Pack n Play. As she gets older, you will get double use out of it for safe play at home, other people's homes and hotel travel.
Good luck!

Pack and play so she can have a safe area to be in regardless if she is sleeping or not.

i used the close and secure sleeper by The First Years. it folds right up and i was able to have the baby in bed with me in an unfamiliar environment which was really convenient. he slept really well being close to us and there was no concern of rolling over on to him. oh! and its only about $30
