Don't bother getting the other shot, or any other form of birth control. Hopefully your body will have time to return to normal before fall comes! Use condoms or some other non-hormone form of contraception from now on until you are ready to start trying to have a baby.

I have heard some really good things about deppo, but my sister was taking for about a year and then she wanted to get pregnant. She got off of it and kept having miscarriage after miscarriage. Finally she went to the doctor and had some test and they told her that the lining of her uterus was all screwed up from the deppo. Im sure you know that deppo stops your periods. The way it does that is it destroys the lining of the uterus, which makes it hard to concieve for a while after you take it. It took her 3 years to get pregnant and not miscarry.
Good Luck

I think if you are seriously wanting to have a baby, you should consider not taking your birth control. Make sure, though, that this is what you really want because with deppo there's no really going around it. At least with the pill you can just stop taking the pill. Nevertheless, I wish you and ur fiance the best and whatever decision you make is what was meant to be! Good luck!

Get off the depo as fast as you can it seriously messes up your body.I had the depo for 5 years ,have not used any contraception for 18 months and have not become pregnant.I already have 2 girls which I became pregnant very quickly with.Had the depo after having last daughter, now would like another child and cant.I am going to see the fertility Dr in Feb to see if I'm still fertile as I'm still not having periods after stopping depo......BEWARE!!!!!!!

I only took one shot and it took me 18 months to get pregnant. I would not take the next shot and just use condoms until you are ready to conceive. Depo does some work to your body and it takes a really long time to recover.

it can mess up your body for ages afterwards so no, it's probably best to use an alternative form of contraception to get your body back to normal before you start trying.
talk to your gp and see what the best alternative would be x
