rings, I hear the same buzzing noise coming from my TV. This even happens if a text message comes through. So my question is, I tried to record the cutest message of my son from my cell phone onto a small olympus digital voice recorder but when I play back the recording that same buzzing sound I have mentioned drown's out anything my son is saying. Anybody know what causes that darn buzz and what I can do to eliminate it from drownding out whatever I am recording?

More than likely, you have cingular and cingular phones tend to do that alot. It's just their connection and you really can't do a thing about it. you can turn off your phone or put your phone in another room since the connection also runs through other electronic devices. the best solution: drop cingular and get a new provider. That used to happen to me when I had a cingular phone and once I got sprint, it never made that sound.

You can't. The buzzing you hear is due to the digital electronics in the cell phone itself causing interference in your car radio, home TV and in your voice recorder.

I agree with the Cingular answer. used to happen to me with Cingular, got Verizon, no longer happens. My roommate has Cingular, I hear a beeping noise every time she is by the computer and gets a text message..Almost sounds like Morse code letting her know she is getting a text message before her phone actually receives it LOL!!

Its the radiowaves from the cell interfering with other electronic equipment. Try to trasfer recordig digitally if your cell model allows - meaning through USB, memory cards, etc. Analog transmission will surely be affected by those interferences.
