Liquor stores are the best. Go to one find out what day they get their deliveries. Then go that day and get all you want. The best part is the boxes are super strong (normally full of glass bottles) plus they are the perfect size to stack and move. Hope this helps

Walk around to the back of a big bookstore and knock loudly on the loading dock door. Ask nicely for boxes. You can almost always get them for free this way and they will be the ideal size for moving heavy books.

You might want to check Craigslist.org. You can select your area and search on free stuff. There is wealth of stuff on that site. Hope this helps!

Go to Walmart first thing in the morning or talk to the night manager to have them save them for you
