Freon leaking from a fridge will not have an odor. The first indication of leaking freon would be extreme build-up of frost in the freezer. As for the light, it sounds as though the filament in the bulb is broken. sometimes the two parts will make contact, and sometimes not. Or, the bulb may be loose in the socket. First check for looseness, if that doesn't pan out, change the bulb. If neither works satisfactorily, you may have a bad light switch. Try opening the door wide, locating the switch and push it with your finger, rapidly, several times.

Nope! Freon is an inert gas. Harmless to humans. In high concentrations of course it can displace oxygen.
In an average room, no big deal. The fridge will also have pump oil mixed in with it. This will drip on stuff if the leak is low on the system, but its just oil. Maybe a third cup or less.

If you are talking about refrigerant gas leaking in samll amounts, that's not going to harm you if you are around it a short while, but the CFC's in that are going toleak into the environment. Those eventually get up into the upper atmosphere and cause harm to the earth's ozone layer.
So, either get the leak fixed or get rid of the fridge'.

High concentrations of "Freon" can hurt/kill you. BUT, you will not get enough out of a refrigerator leak to be concerned in any way. How do you know it is leaking and why don't you get it repaired. If you are not going to repair it, throw it in the dump.
Freon that comes in contact with flames creates phosgene gas. But since your house most likely is not on fire at this time, don't be concerned with that. OK?

A fridge cannot leak gas more than a few minutes, then it looses its pressure and a switch goes on and the fridge wont even run.
The harm in a line break in say your kitchen where the gas pours out is in the freon and OIL mixture. That freon atomizes the oil and speads it through out the room Breathing that ref. oil is harmful so ventilate the room Open the window.
To late now to do anything that things isnt leakiing anymore its all leaded out so things are SAFE.

no that gas, i assume is cfc and it's only harmful to the ozone layer, so in the end it'll kill us when we lose the ozone, but in terms of poisoning you, it won't have much of an effect. i assume the fridge is a little old, as the newer ones use liquid coolants.
