Totally agree with you!!!
I think the Catholic church opposes these partnerships because:
1 they want people to behave in a standard way
2 this assures children (and Catholic ones, at that)
3 they need some sort of scapegoat
I am sure that finally TOLERANCE is the answer to many of our problems
You are welcome

It's just GREAT (dripping with sarcasm) that this is taught in schools. It is a religious issue. What happened to math, English, history, science and PE? This is an issue that should be taught by the parents. Me personally? Although I've had some gay friends, some close too, I've never supported their life style. My motto is judge the sin not the person. They've always understood my beliefs too. I believe it goes against the doctrines of God. I like the person, not the lifestyle. I think marriage between two people should be between man and woman. I'm not "into" the idea that what we do doesn't hurt you. Everything we all do affects society. This type of marriage promotes the decline of the family. That affects all of us. If you look at history, and the progression of things just like this, you'll see it opens doors for something a little stronger. What will be next? I can marry my dog that I really feel like I love and who does that hurt? May sound extreme? Sixty years ago very few people were OK with the idea of a male and female even living together out of the bonds of marriage. Now it seems mainstream. People forget God, make up their own rules and justify them as I'm not hurting anyone and who's business is it anyway?

I'm Gay! And I really don't care what the religions of the world say. the biggest reason for divorce is divorce. Why would anyone want to go thru what straight people do.
By the way scripturally speaking Able never married because he was murdered by Cain. But the Bible says that Cain took his sister as a wife and they produced many children.
We get this by knowing that Adam and Eve were told to be fruitful and multiply, that means that the chances of their being only 2 children were slim. Cain took one of his sister's as a wife as did his other brothers as they came along. Remember that Adam and Eve were in their 800's before they actually died so they had plenty of time to produce a small nation just the 2 of them. But then you put their offspring in their also and you have the population as Fruitful and multiplied. The same thing happened when all living things on the earth were destroyed when God (Jehovah) became angry and he saved the lives of Noah and his family.

Well, Abel wasn't married lol, but I agree with you on Cain's wife, I've wondered that my whole life, and when I ask my religious friends, even the ones who support gay rights, they're just like "uhh, the Bible doesn't explain every family and birth". I totally support gays and lesbians, and the Catholic Church is just stuck in backward thinking and afraid of change. They acted the same with minority and womens' rights as well. Over time they will grow to accept us; it just may be a while since we are the only butts of discrimination for them left :(.

The bible has been edited and cut soooo many times to fit what the people founding Christianity wanted out of a religion. Paul didn't even know Jesus, and yet wrote an entire chapter about him. I do not believe that God finds gay/lesbian a sin; only the people who judge them.

I think that if two people love each other and want to commit legally and in the eyes of god they should be able to do this. I think religious people often mix religious doctrine with what the bible actually says.
I challenge anyone to show a passage that actually condemns homosexuality without having to twist and misinterpret the words first.

I think marriage, bewteen a man and woman, or two people of the same sex, should be allowed under law as a civil union and the churches should have the right of whther or not they sanctify that union. No gov't should tell a church who they can marry, and no church should tell a gov't either.

i agree. I think gays and lesbians should be able to have their own chance at a "marriage headache" but seriously, most gay and lesbian relationships last longer than hetero relationships nowadays. now if we really want to be mean let them have marriage and keep divorce to ourselves.
