A couple of months ago, I was late for my period. It finally came after 2 weeks. If you took 2 tests already and it's negative, chances are the tests are right. If the doctor says to wait then you'll just have to wait. When I was late for my period by two weeks, I took about 3 tests and all were negatives, but I kept thinking I was pregnant, but at the end, it finally came. Last month, I had an extra test, so I decided to take the test before my period was even due, and guess what, it came back positive. I think the tests are pretty accurate.

Unfortunately some women dont produce enough pregnancy hormone at first to make the test show an accurate 'positive' if you are pregnant. Your doctor however could carry out a blood test as these are more sensitive and give an accurate result. Are you having any other pregnancy symptoms? Sore, enlarged breasts, nausea, tiredness, aversion to certain smells/foods...? Another option is to try to work out (if you can) if you had sex around ovulation. Take 14 away from the number of days your cycle is long (eg if its 30 days, 30-14=16) this gives you day of ovulation. If you had sex on or around that day the chances are higher, if you have not it may be more like a late period. I have regular periods too & experienced mine 5 days late a month ago with no reason why. Sometimes things just happen. I wish you all the best.

The OB can do a blood test to see if you're pregnant, but it sounds like he does not want to do that right now. Just be patient and wait a full two weeks and retake the home test. I know it's hard, but I am sure that the TTC will happen eventually.

I took three pregnancy tests on my last child, all came back negative. I was eight weeks pregnant before I got a positive reading!
It's possible to get a false negative - repeatedly!
Try and hold out for another week and test again

I know the feeling of waiting but if your not irregular and and the doctor said to wait that all you can really do beside taking pregnancy tests every five minutes.

I am eighteen days late for this period and ten days late for the one before that. I went to the doctor this week and he prescribed progesterone for ten days to jump start my periods and I had never been late before either. If your period doesn't come you may want to ask your doctor about progesterone.

Your doctor should have been able to tell from a blood test. If you're not pregnant they could be some other type of problem.
