The show "Futurama" was an original sit-com that stands out in the crowd with a strong cult following. Yes, "Family Guy" is a very funny show. However if anyone were to actually compare the cast of main characters are very similar to those on the show "The Simpsons". A few years ago MAD Magazine proved this point by making TWO parody covers.
People will watch "Family Guy" because of various reasons. Flip the coin over and there's also a reason of why people will also watch "Futurama" re-runs, wait for new episodes to air next year on Comedy Central and be anticapating the direct to DVD movie that hits shelves later this year. All in all, it doesn't matter of which show is better to watch. Just watch these show because they're entertaining to watch. 'Nuff Said.

I like both, but i must admit i agree with you in the fact that family guy is probarly better then futurama. I cannot wait for new episodes of Family guy and Futurama to show (family guy this weekend, futurama sometime the end of this year or 2008)!

I like both, but personally I love Futurama more. It has a real story line. Family Guy is really just a bunch of jokes that can be used in any episode at any time. Both shows are great, but I'd rather watch Futurama because it's just more entertaining to me.

Family Guy has better characters, but Futurama has better stories. Both require a knowledge of popular culture in order to get the jokes. Family Guy's jokes are lower brow, but probably funnier. Futurama's jokes are a little more sophisticated.
I call it a draw.

Family Guy is far more popular and succesful than Futurama. While Futurama is funny, nothing can beat Family Guy quotes such as, "I need a sign to warn people of the dog in my yard. Ah, here it is ,One Way, it will let people know that there is only one way out of my yard. In a body bag..."(Adam West)

No way! Family Guy was good, but now it's just a bunch of sexual innuendos that eveybody's heard before. Futurama had smart writing, even though a lot of the humour is dumb.

both shows came back from cancellation Family Guy was pulled because the execs at fox were idiots Futurama got cancelled because it was always pre-empted by football games and no one saw it.both shows aired on adult swim and got high ratings and the networks saw ,fox brought back family guy and comedy central is bringing back futurama ,sadly they bought the rights and it will no longer be on adult swim
