I TRY to go.. it isnt because of times or location.. but its that I go, get a little inspired and the moment I walk out that insperation leaves. I think if churches were a bit more "hip" young people would come more often. Offer Christian pop/rock music, have more activities for younger people, offer a place where young people can go to hang out with out the stress of drugs or crime is. Also, the attitudes of ministers these days really needs to change. I find most, if not all, to be cold, strict and judgemental. I can't tell you how many times I dont go back to a church because I felt the minister was rude and judgemental to me - an educated, kind, young woman. One even made me cry because he called me a "prostitute" for allowing my fiance to sleep in the same house as me when visiting me at my parents. I have given up A LOT on my faith because of these people. Young people really need POSITIVE roll models - ecspecially when it comes to religion.

I am 30 and I have never attended church regularly. I did participate in a Youth Dynamics group as a teen and really enjoyed it.
I don't go to church for several reasons. Mostly, I hate other people trying to tell me what to believe... whether it's religion or otherwise. Also, my dad was very strict with religion (a religion which he pretty much made UP!) so I learned to despise religion early.
I am not an athiest or anything... I believe in a higher power... I just don't see why you'd need to "prove" your beliefs by going to church. As far as I'm concerned, if you live your life unselfishly, be courteous, be a good person, give back to the community, etc... you'll be welcome wherever it is that we go after this.
At least I hope so. :)

Humans in general are known to take something great and try to exploit it to there own benefit. I think that the role of the preacher is one that has changed so much. Jesus did not make you fill out a financial form so he knew your income before he spoke of the lord. Christianity is not about going to church but instead to realize right from wrong and treat your neighbor the way you wish to be treated no mater his actions. Present day preachers have the light bill water bill and so on to worry about not to mention personal salary. so it is a lot about money and not about the lord. this is why i believe the number of churchgoing people in this country is declining.

It depends on what church you go to. Church is a very welcoming place and the people their are like family. You can sing as loud as you want because it is all for God and He loves your singing voice no matter what. :)

Waay too political for me. I do not go but was dilligently raised as a Christian. I was turned off by hypocrisy, and someone telling me how to interpret the bible from their "holy" point of view.
