I am about to change jobs. But the new job that I'm taking pays more and the new job is like a step down from my old job. I wasn't going to take the job because of the slight demotion, but I was told sometimes you have to take a step down to step up. How true is this? Looking for a story or scenario similiar to mines. Something that I can go by. Just need some motivation before I make this step. Just to give a little more insight, my current jobs have no growing opportunites. Let me know and thanks for your help.

That is true. I did that and I now make $30k more a year after 3 years, plus have a lot more opportunities opened to me. If your current job has no growth, that is very harmful long term, becuase that's time you could spend growing elsewhere and surpassing where you're at now.

Hey who knows? You may be so productive at your new job that you'll get promoted quickly. If you think you'll be happier with this new job then all means go for it!
