There's the immediate: hangover, getting in trouble with parents, impaired judgement - doing stupid things.

There's the short term: failing in school, inability to get/hold a job, trouble with relationships, car accidents.

There's the long term: not finishing high school, inability to take care of things you need to take care of, jail, parenting that child you conceived while drunk, health problems, etc.

What we know about alcohol is that it is the WORST drug you can abuse. It negatively impacts, literally, every system in the body. It impairs your judgement, contributes to fat, kills brain cells and damages your liver (and every other organ).

There is also the emotional aspect. People who start to drink at an early age are often suspended at that age until they stop drinking. So, if you start drinking heavily at age 14 and you stop at 28, emotionally, you're around 14 because you shut down at that age and numbed out. In essence, you didn't grow emotionally during that time.

Lawfully...it depends. In my state if a minor is caught with alcohol, they are forced to go into an abuse program, it is also possible for the state to revoke their right to obtain their drivers license until they turn 21

Going to jail or juvenile, getting driver's license taken away, having parents kick teen out (some parents will do this), messing up brain chemistry (becoming mentally ill), among others.

When you're under the influence of alcohol, your judgement isn't what is should be. You can make poor choices that can affect the rest of your life, and maybe even someone elses.
