In the Milwaukee WI radio market the most powerful radio station is WTMJ 620. They used to have a token liberal on to satisfy the FCC suggestion of fair broadcasting. They start at 8:30 am -12;00pm w/Conservative Charlie Sykes, after the news at noon they have Conservative Jeff Wagner for two hours. At 8pm they have conservative Jessica McBride for 2 hours. They have absolutely no one with opposing views on this radio station.

This past election they interview or gave free airtime at least 10 times to the Republican candidate for governor. They gave absolutely n o free time to the Democratic candidate. The Democrat won because their are a great many people who listen to true debate on public television, radio and can find true accuracy to make decisions.

Good Question. I have the same issues with Rush Limbore and his ilk. They dominate the radio waves and do much damage to our nation as a result. I have no easy answers how to solve the problem. I am against censorship, so we can't just yank them off the air.

The best I can come up with is the thought that Rushbore and his ilk have so thoroughly discredited themselves through their ludricous support of Bush's ludicrous war, that all thinking people now scoff at them. Also, I think today's young people view Rush as some kind of Nazi kook. Finally, I think people have begun to view Rush as the official mouthpiece of the Bush administration and therefore discount his opionions much as Russians discounted the propaganda that came from Pravda back in the USSR days.
In short I believe they have discredited themselves which is a version of "What goes around, comes around."
Cheers!

I'm sure there are plenty of other stations in your market. You undoubtedly have NPR which is extreme left wing & that's paid for by taxpayers. WTMJ is probably privately financed.

Yes, it is fair.

Yes it is fair. The radio station is a private institution. If you do not like it, don't listen to it. Start your own radion station. Listen to Air America, oh wait you can't. Nevermind.
