and the couple that are throwing it are swingers..not really sure what will happen. when i ask all i get is "its gonna be pretty crazy"...should i just relax and go with the flow??? or should i just avoid this thing??? my gf said she would like to go if for nothing else just to watch and see.

Being a swinger, and having been to many swinger house parties (which I'd bet this one is at someone's house, right?), I can tell you that it really is just like any other party you'd go to at someone's house with drinking, music, and food. Except usually people are more flirtatious and sexually open. Sometimes you'll see some girls flashing and stuff like that.
Other than that, most swinger house parties are not one big orgy like you see in porn. There are rooms set aside for people to go and have sex if they like. Most all swingers are very respectful of those on different levels of comfort and experience and nobody is going to pressure you to do anything you or your girlfriend don't want to. We were all newbies just testing the waters ourselves at one time and we all know how overwhelming it can be for a newbie.
So go. Have fun. Look around and see if it is something you'd like to pursue or not. Just be sure that before you go that you and your girlfriend have thoroughly discussed what you are doing there and what is going to be okay and what isn't. Such as, is all physical contact with others off-limits. Or is it okay for each of you to kiss or make-out with someone else? Or whatever else you may be comfortable with. Go with a set plan and rules, and follow them, and you'll have a good time.
There are lots of people that come to swinger parties in our area that are not active swingers, they just like the more open and liberal attitude and atmosphere, then they go home revved-up for each other and have great sex themselves.
