What are some great, yet inexpensive hotels in the Seattle, Washington area? I am not looking to stay at the Hilton or Westin. I like a hotel that is reasonable, but nice, clean and convenient to shops and restaurants.

I would recommend the Inn at Queen Anne. It's in Lower Queen Anne, amongst is shops and restaurants and is within walking distance to Seattle Center, the Space Needle and the Monorail (for getting downtown or take the bus). It's reasonably priced and offers basic amenities. Here's the website:

It is. If you go to the Capitol Hill area there are lots of gays and rainbow flags. I always see them holding hands walking down the street. Same over at Seattle Center where the Space Needle is. It's nice that people seem to be so tolerant here. Unfortunately, Mars Hills church is starting to have a big influence in town and they're a bunch of hateful homophobes with big smile masks on their face. If you venture too far into the suburbs, you get the pick-up driving, hunting and fishing rednecks who hang out at Juggs coffee shop and hate people who aren't like them, so it's best to stay in town if you're gay, unfortunately!
