Daylight savings ends in Oct. It begins in April when we move the clocks ahead. I think it was started to give the farmers more daylight at the end of the day beginning in April so they could finish working the fields and get the spring crops planted on time.

it is because the daylight hours are shorter in the winter and it gives us more daylight time.when we change the time in the summer it helps then, but have you noticed ,when fall comes, the sun seems to go down at 5:00pm because we are still on summer daylight savings time.that is why we change back,so we can have longer daylight in the afternoon.
