How soon did you tell your child about your new relationship?

I just wanted to see how long it took for divorced parents to tell there child about a new relationship. Also how old the child/ren are? My boyfriend has a 10 yr I have been dating him in a serious relationship for a month but have been around for 3 months. We are still friends to his daughter.

I answered this one earlier today, and I still think my answer was a good one! LOL....there is no rush to make this a big deal to the 10 year old, take it easy, but don't lie. You've only been around for a little bit, so there' s no reason to push it on the kid, you might not last, and then it would just be heartache for the kid if he/she was really attached to you.

divorce is tough on kids, but life does move on, the right approach would be to tell her right away do not hide anything from the kids, they tend to be more sensitive, and do not put yourself in such a position for that child to resent you, it will only make the relationship harder, or is he hiding something?
