We always forget the "ladies".....but Babe Zaharais.....just look up her records in golf alone.....never mind that she won Olympic Gold in '1932 and a pretty good basketball player.......she was declared the best woman athelete of the 20th Century by AP.....won 17 golf tournaments in a row (what is Tiger at now 6?)....this lady was the real "Babe".......the other "Babe" was a wanna be!!!

the answer is wayne gretzky. nobody has ever put up such rediculous numbers, especially for so long. he was completely unmatched.
tiger woods of like 1999/2000 is also close, as is federer of now.
statistically federer is better, but thats because tennis is sport that someone can completely dominate on, unlike golf (its just too dificult of a game to be THAT consistent).

Lance Armstrong, without a doubt. Seven consecutive world championships. I don't think anyone in any other sport has ever done that.

I'd say that it's right now, but it's a question of who is more dominant: Roger Federer or Tiger Woods.
