because of the fact the government have the opt to make Sadaam appear like a criminal. the reality of the concern is Mr. Hussein is purely as much as a criminal as our President George W. Bush. 10 years from now, will President Bush ought to pass to trial for all of those people who're being killed in Iraq using his loss of management skills and stupid judgements???

They used to hang people in the US, too, and for a lot less than what Saddam did. So, no, I think he should have died for his crimes. If they would have put him in prison the place would have to be guarded like Ft. Knox for the rest of the man's life because there would always been some radical idiot trying to break him out. I normally don't think the death penalty is a good idea, but in this one instance I do.

I feel that Capital punishment is by its nature cruel and unusual punishment.

Prison would have been a better option, IMO.

It's easy to say: "no, we shoulda cut off his balls and fed them to him first" etc, but in most western societies, bar the US, capital punishment is detested. Why? I dunno actually...hmmm, it seems reasonable to take the life of someone who we know definitely took the lives of others. Kill him, kill him!!! Oh, he's dead? Then, kill anyone related to him!!! Oh they did that too? Isn't that a bit harsh? What, they *probably* were as bad as Saddam? So what, they may have been more innocent than we gave them credit for? Can we bring them back from the dead then if they are innocent? No? Oh sh*t.
