Why does Kali stick her tongue out on occasion?

In some paintings she is sticking out her tongue , but in others - no tongue. Why is that?

Lordess Kali sticks her tongue out to show her anger towards the evil and to protect saints. It is an expression of the painter. Someone will paint Lord or Lordess in different colours and different postures. Actually this is their imagination. But the most important is the message behind the picture.
