There are over two hundred Native American tribes....not one of them are the same. Not all tribes have high stereo typical cheek bones. Go to the library and check out the book 500 nations. There you will see that not every tribe has the same EXACT features. Have you ever heard of a BLACK INDIAN? There are many in the south.
Predominate individuals follow the same facial structures within their own tribes. Some native tribes are not predominate and have traces of other ethnicity's such as European, South American, African bloodlines.
On the east coast you might find some tribes very dark with nicely defined and sharp facial features, and some may have very fair skin like that of their European ancestry.
In the south you will find several people mixed with both African and Native American blood and sometimes with some traces of Caucasian mix as well. These kind of Native Americans are predominantly native but with some trace of another ethnicity.
In the west coast and up North, you will find traces of Spanish, South American, and Mexican mixes. At times it may even be hard to tell them apart.
That is why it is hard to label how a native looks. Each tribe is different. Each part of the US is different. Some people are mixed where others are not.

No. Aboriginals/First Nations people come in a variety of complexions and have a variety of facial structures. Anyone telling you different is a quack. I have also met people from a variety of tribes, and Aboriginals from different areas look different. There is no definitive feature** that makes you Aboriginal. You either are, or you aren't. And personally, I don't think people whose great-great-great grandmothers of whatever MAY have been Native makes you Native. Learning your language, knowing your culture and history and having experience with life on reservations does. **there is one feature that is common to people of First Nations descent (according to my knowledgable prof), and that is shovel incisors. If your front teeth are concave in the back, or they curve in like a spoon, supposedly this is a First Nations/Native trait. Mine do, as do my brother's, mother's, cousins', and boyfriend's. On a side note, I have also found that everyone in my Maliseet family has beautiful straight teeth. However it would make me ignorant to sit here and claim that straight teeth is strictly a Native/Aboriginal trait because it isn't. You cannot look at straight teeth and say "There is definitive evidence of my Native heritage" (if you even have any) because it could have come from anywhere. I have an issue personally with everyone trying to claim they are Native. Simply because there is a family legend / possibility that you had an Aboriginal ancestor doesn't make you an Aboriginal. After all the things Aboriginals went through in North America, and the treatment that we still endure TODAY, it irritates me that so many claim to be 'Native' yet take no true interest in the history of what has happened to Native people. Among these issues - Residential Schools. Land Appropriation. Forced Assimilation. Genocide. And that is just the tip of the iceberg.
