South Park is so deliberately disrespectful to so many people that it is really not that funny. Im so serious. Simpsons aren't out to make you look stupid most of the time and really drive home satirical comedy.

I think South Park plays to a different audience then The Simpson's.
Both are good but different.

In response to your question, No. South Park is not a cheap rip-off of the Simpsons (if you watch it, you'd know..) I do agree with you in that the show has become so deliberately disrespectful that the gratuitousness of some of the jokes have put off a lot of people.
I'll still watch both, thanks.
