Where do people get the idea that THEY are NOT 'special interests'? Everyone is, by definition, a special interest.

An independent President might wake some people up - We do not know if special interests would corrupt this man of integrity, but we Americans should consider the idea next election.
I fear this will not happen - Why because the ROBOTS will enter the voting booth like a blind ZOMBIE and pull a democratic lever or a Republican lever - then return from the booth smiling as if he/she accomplished some great feat

There's no proof they won't be. However, with the major party candidates we know for a fact that they already are. Lesser of evils in this situation. Do you actually think you could possibly trust any of the major party candidates?
In my opinion, power does not corrupt. Instead, power attracts the corrupt. Any person actively seeking the office of president is already demonstrably corrupt and should be barred from the office.

I agree. In today's world politics is too complex not to have special intrests. One would not enter politics without having at least a handful of core beliefs/priorities. Today's political system requires too much money to be a true idealist. We live in the world of divide and compromise.

It takes big bucks to get elected and the big bucks usually come from special interest groups.

I would have to say its obvious that any and all politicians, from any party, with what ever chosen line, are corrupt. The very nature of politicians is parasitic
