i don't understand how killing a fetus is wrong, but killing civilains while at war is ok.

i understand people are mad about 9-11. but does that make mean two wrongs make a right. somebody on the right explain how killing in war is ok and killing in the womb is not.
also explain the difference.

is is that some lives are worth more then others? if that is true, and you claim to be christain ( as most ani abortionsts are) then explain how some lives are worth more then others in the eyes of your god, and how you justify killing some, but against killing the un-born.
and don't tell me fetus don't have a chance, becuase those kids in that appartment complex that was believed to be a terrorist strong hold didn't either.

Your comparing apples to oranges and need to do some research. Most people agree war is wrong, but, all throughout history, people like Stalin, Hitler, Tojo and yes, Saddam, have tried to conquer the world, or control it. Had America not stood its ground in two world wars, the world would be under the control of the Nazi's.
The type of enemy we are fighting hides like a coward among the general population. In fact, the latest car bombs and suicide bombings have been against civilian targets. No one said a word in World war one or two about the Germans and Japenese killed in the carpet bombings.

Would you rather we sit back and wait until we start getting American Civilians killed in downtown Chicago, or New Orleans, Houston, Los Angele's or even middle America?? The world is more complicated than your simple approach can handle. Talk is cheap and most of the want to be dictators don't listen anyway. Look at North Korea and Iran.

Abortion is the killing of a fetus. While many people think there need to be certain exceptions to this procedure, such as rape or incest, its not a sterile, take out a lump of tissue that is not recognizable.

In partial birth abortions, the babies are 7-8 months term, fully formed, and are delivered partly out of the mother, then aborted. In other words, they are KILLED. Had this child been delivered, the survival rate is about 70%.

No, you tell me, which is worse? Killing people who want to kill you, your family and anyone you know because they don't have the same beliefs as they do, or, Killing a baby whose only crime was being created by two people who care less about them??

Think about that for a while and try, if you will, to justify abortion. Then take a look at history and see what the world would look like say, Hitler had won the war, or the Soviet Union had taken over the world, all because we didn't want to offend anyone, or innocent people die.

i think you have some very strong points there. war is really a pointless act of rage, and when this war first started i was against it and in some casses i still am, but since 9-11 there've been debates with my friends/social workers, and i've learned a few thing. with the war in iraq, at first i thought bush was stupid for getting into it (or as some ppl say, started it) but i don't believe he really started it, this wasn't the first 9-11 attack, and what start that war was when sadam/osama sent those men to highjack the planes, that's what started the war. when they bombed the twin towers, that was basically a taunt, and if he wouldn't have reacted, then they most likely would have done something like it agian, and again. Plus, they children were be treated terribly there, there were only two classes, the high/right class, and the poor class, there were very few people in the rich class, and since they had so much money, they had all the power, unfortunatly, some people get bad with that much power which is why this war had to start, bush isn't trying to waste lives unfortunatly he has to do what he can to try and make that country right. i am against war but for this one i think it is one that needed to happen

You have a very valid question, space monkey. Turning the argument towards Christians, however, was probably a poor choice. Answers pointing fingers at republicans are probably also lacking in intelligence. Democratic presidents have waged wars as well.

The bottom line of any military conflict boils down to the almighty dollar. It would be nice if we could say that we went to war to free the country from oppression on our own good grace, but we didn't. The war on terrorism isn't waged to save lives of Americans because we like each other, it's ultimately waged because the loss of American lives is equated to mean the loss of tax dollars (and/or political favor). Shameful, but that's the wonderful world we live in.

So the next time you fly that flag high and proud, lets all remember the tax dollars generated in the making and sale of the item.

Your reasoning implies that everyone who opposes abortion is somehow in favor of war. True, the majority of people who are against abortion are also in support of war (as am I), but that assumed hypocrisy - whether it's real or not - does not validate abortion, and so I suggest you remove it from your argument as I have just negated it. Of all the right-wingers who you see as hypocrites for supporting war but opposing abortion, there are still those who are against abortion, but also against war. Therefore, you are left with a dilemma: If the said hypocrisy is no longer a universal truth, then you cannot apply it to the abortion debate in hopes of proving abortion right. It is a smokescreen argument; one which you only employ to cover up the real issue with assumed truths and broad generalizations. A doctrine or philosophy cannot be proven right by its supporters, for all people are flawed, but the truth is always perfect. So, too, can abortion not be validated by certain contradictions in the argument of some of its detractors; it must be proven right by the very doctrine that supports it.

Nothing is just right or wrong, everything comes in shades. But one argument is that soldiers elect to die, for that is ultimately their job, while a fetus doesn't get the choice. Soldiers are not innocent therefore i really feel little remorse about their loss other than because I think that war is never a good solution. It is all the innocent people that are casualties of war which make war "wrong".

i am not a christian in fact I am a heathen and you are an idiot. You can not compare war to killing a unborn child, this war is stupid and as i eluded to so are you. I do not think killing is wrong and as if i needed proof you spoke up. War is something people have done for ever, even to the point that they honored gods with it. Not at all do I agree with this war, or you. But abortion is evil and you are a freaking idiot

You have raised a very good question here and here is the answer you seek.
Killing is wrong no matter be it in war or in the womb. Put a murderer to death for the wrong that he comitted.
Killing is killing no matter how one my justify there motives.
Bible say you shall not kill.

It is all about motive. What is the motive behind abortion? What is the motive behind going to war with the Taliban in Afghanistan? What is the motive behind shooting an intruder that comes into your house to hurt you or your family? They all are acts of violence. Some are justified and some not. Only those that are committing the act can say what they have in their hearts and what their justification is.

Would you defend your family against an intruder? Would you shoot the intruder if he/she were about to kill your child? What if one of your bullets went astray and killed a harmless bystander outside? Was your action just?

Im a conservative Christian, hopefully I am able to clear a few things up. Abortion is murder, you are right. Legal or nonlegal, it doesnt make it any better. War is different. Murder is killing without reason. Now targeting civilians is unacceptable, and it is indeed murder. There have been several soldiers convicted of this in a military tribunal. However, you must realize civilians die in war. They die in a war between uniformed armies. Now, since our enemy is a coward and likes to appear like a civilian, that makes it 10 times harder. We should not target civilians, but sometimes, like in an air raid or even friendly fire, they are killed. This is sad, because they were not the ones who deserve to die. Terrorists, on the other hand, target civilians, and are murderers. God loves everyone equally and he values everyones' lives the same, he is a just God. He doesnt order us to attack civilian infidels and socrifice ourselves to kill civilians. But he is a God of War too. I hate war, I hate killing, and I hate our soldiers and innocent civilians being killed. But we gotta fight this war. We gotta fight this ideology that says, "Hey, they believe differently than us, let's kill them."

First, we are not invading iraq. we are protecting our country from terrorists. if we werent there, then they would be here. would you rather have that???? abortion is wrong because people know what they are getting into when they have a sexual relationship w/ eachother. to kill a baby already having a heartbeat and dreams and a life ahead of them is wrong, especially if people knew the outcomes of having sex. we are in iraq to defend, we have abortion so that people can freely do it. it is wrong and sad and you should go to albinoblacksheep.com and watch the movie on abortion.

JERK!
