-Well-worded
-Sophisticated
-Repetitive
-Interesting

-Other description

2.Who did he individually recognize and why?

3.How would you rate his speech from 1-5 and why?

4.What topics did he talk about that interested you and why? How persuasive were they from 1-5?

The reason I didn't watch it was because I had paino, guiatar, bass, AND zither lessons on that day. I can't let down on an offer for free lessons that could improve my life somehow. I am also in the National Honor Society and involved with activities after school like community service. By the time I went home I was tired. I didn't TiVo because my parents say we cant afford stuff like that, and I didn't record it because my parents weren't going to buy a new tape for the president's speech. I really appreciate your help on this poll project on the public's opinion. I am very grateful. Thank you so much for your help!

i thought it was very scripted, his words did not come from the heart. He glossed over many important topics such as health care, social security.
He did not even mention the relief efforts in New Orleans,he acts like that city does not even exist.
His topics mainly were about sending more troops in the middle East and trying to scare Americans to think that Iran is the new threat, when in fact he still hasn't found the Weapons of Mass Destruction that were supposedly in Iraq.
He never mentioned Sadamm Hussain's execution,or the fact that Americans are losing their lives in Iraq everyday, more that the total deaths of 9/11.
He was not very persuasive or genuine in anything that he said the other night in my opinion. He has no connection with the American people at all.

1. Pleading

2. 3 people becuase of their "heroic acts" (note that these people support the Iraq War)

3. I would rate it a 2 because he was saying things that were very obvious while offering no solution to important issues such as Iraq. Though, I did enjoy it when he said "Madame Speaker, Vice President Cheney...." simply because he said "Madame Speaker".

4. None of the topics interested me, because they weren't too important. Balencing the budget was kind of important, but Iraq has a LARGE role in that, and he didn't even talk too much about Iraq! Therefore, the arguments get a 1 for persuasiveness.

5. No because he avoided the important issues on purpose (according to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow).

Glad to be of help.

i liked the speech, but we as intelligent human beings know damn well that he isnt going to do all the things that he promised. it was very optimistic for a person that only has two years left. he doesnt have enough time to do all of those things. if he would have considered all of the things he spoke about since the beginning his approval rating wouldnt be so low. i give his speech a 3, he is still stubborn about iraq.
I thought it was interesting that he for the first time mentioned the development of alternative fuels and energy.
yes i agree with the tpoics, just not the invasion of iraq.
he recognized the first madame speaker, nanci pelosi

I think that you should have TIVO'd it. It is hard to describe, but I would say it was very low-key, restrained, and optimistic. Lets hope some of the things that were said come to pass.

I also think that you should do you schoolwork on a more honest way, like do your own homework, it builds character.
