Southenors are slow .witted
Yankees are loud mouthed, know-it-all-idiots.

The one about Yankees has proven to be correct. The one about the South was a scourge brought on by the Yankee press during the Civil War so they could kill Southenors without hurting their consciences.

Look for how the media covers other countries, if you want to see cultural examples, rather than ethnic or racial examples.

Example one: The coverage of the Natalee Holloway case. The media represented American teens, Dutch parents and teens, and Aruban (native) parents and teens very differently, based on culture.

Example two: When President Bush visited the Far East and reporters were making fun of Asian people and traditions, based on stereotypes of their cultures.
