last week i did a boots pregnancy test and it showed a faint positive result and so i waited untill the weekend and got another two test but a different brand and they came up negative so i waited another couple of days as i wasnt late when i did them im now 3 days late and i got a clearblue and it came up posative BUT after 20 min the posative line faded to a negative result!!!!!!!!!
the clearblu packet says to disregard the test after 10 minutes so does tis mean im pregnant as for 15 mins it was posative?

It is possible to convince yourself you may be pregnant when you are not, but in this case I would say it sounds like you really are pregnant. Home pregnancy tests can often show false negative results but it is rare to show a false positive. The first was probably a very faint line as the pregnancy hormone at that time was not very strong in your body. The fact you are now late on your period and you have had a positive test result indicates pregnancy. The fact it faded is probably not an issue as it does say disreguard after 10 minutes indicating regard whatever the result says before that time. You also mention about having discharge instead of a period which is another sign of pregnancy as many women instead of bleeding have a little pinky or brown discharge instead around the time their period was due. This is harmless & perfectly normal in pregnancy. Anything heavier though, like proper bleeding needs to be checked out if you have had a positive preg test result as it could mean a threatened misscarrige. This is unlikely, so dont panic, just so you are aware. Now make an appointment with your doctor to have the pregnancy confirmed, I wish you all the best.

Pregnancy tests check to see if the "pregnancy hormone" is present in your system. unless you have a rare disorder where that hormone would be there even when you are not pregnant, then you are. The reason for false negatives is that the level of hormone may be low, but this level increases daily. It can also be low depending on the time of day or how much you have had to drink. Your local Public Health Department can do the blood test which is like 99% accurate.

That's strange. The way pregnancy tests work is that there's a strip inside them coated with a chemical that will only turn blue if it comes into contact with the pregnacy hormone HCG.

If I were you, I'd call the Clearblue helpline number (should be written on the packet somewhere) and ask them. I can't think why it would be positive one moment, and negative the next.

I suspect you probably are pregnant though.

When i thought i was pregnant i did buy at least 13 or more pregnancy test and different brands. Some where £10 and some where £1.50 and its a waste of money and its so up-setting to see a faint line and then the next test nothing. Your best to go for a blood test. Your heads wreck as its is and all you want to know are you bloody pregnant!!

My advice to you would be to go to the doctor. When I first got pregnant I took a few pregnancy tests and they kept saying negative and then the last one i took was clearblue and it said positive but it was really hard to tell still. Usually with pregnancy tests they are inaccurate I hear after the certain time limit. So hopefully all goes well with you and goodluck dear.

So many tests have different sensativity levals (even those in the same multi pack). If you got a faint line at any point before 10 minutes was up, then you're pregnant. Just because the line disapeared means nothing.

i would say you are pregnant, you can get a false negative but you cant get a false positive, any positive line that shows up means a pregnancy because the test looks for hcg that is only found in the urine of a pregnant female so the fact that the test came out positive meant it found hcg in your urine, some tests arent as sensitive as others so whilst one says positive it may be a very sensitive brand,i would say go to the docs so you can get all tests and bookings done and may i say good luck-mum to six kids

You very well could be, but don't wait go to the doctor. Oh and discharge is increased during pregnancy especially in the first 3 months. So get checked out.

Too early to test with the first ones; wait a few more days and try again.
You can have a slight discharge in early pregnancy.
You may well be pregnant.

well i would wait a week or two and then go to the docs and get the results done there...
it seems like you realy want to be pregnant and may be influanced... but yes the test should be disregarded then it is a strong posibility that you are pregnant...
Good luck
