Two questions then: What model of the 1700 router are you using? And will you be using an external DSU or do you want the T1 modules on the router to have an integrated DSU?

The 1721 model for example has 2 WAN Interface Card (WIC) slots. If you need to support 3 T1 circuits, then I would use 2 of the WIC-2T modules (if using external DSUs) or 2 of the VWIC-2MFT-T1 modules (if you want internal DSUs).

The VWIC-2MFT-T1 list price is $2,000 and the WIC-2T list price is $700. The DSU being used will determine which one you need.

It sounds like you have three locations, each with a 1700 router and a T1 circuit. I would suggest the Cisco WIC-1DSU-T1-V2

The CSU is incorporated into the WIC card so that you don't need to purchase an additional or external equipment. This option is also easier to manage as everything is configured through the router interface. The T1 cable plugs directly in to the WIC card. This will typically be more cost effective than purchasing a serial card + external CSU, although it all depends on the discount that you are receiving.
