I was raised in abject poverty. 5 of us were raised on 10,000 a year my dad made washing dishes and food stamps. He is a brilliant man with a negative attitude which kept him and us in poverty. I know what causes poverty and it isn't the lack of money, it's the lack of a proper attitude. Even a paraplegic can greet people at a Wal-Mart if they are willing to work. Willing to get off *** and work and pursue your potential with right attitude will eliminate most poverty in my opinion.I am doing well now after years of undoing the negativeness that was put in me as a child.

poverty is a mindset. i mean that in this way: if a person has been in poverty for generations then it is clearly the mindset of that family. now if someone is in poverty because life gave them a hard blow but they are trying to get out of it, then they have a rich mindset. to end the stupidity and ignorance about what causes poverty, one would have to change a persons mindset. that, unfortunately is impossible.

Anyone working for Walmart by definition lives in poverty. I'm not going to do the research for you but I'll bet their average annual income is below the poverty line no matter where they live. There are some things that one has no control over and poverty may be a by-product of these uncontrollable variables. I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: there is no known cause and no cure. Is it my fault I have become disabled and can't work fulltime anymore???

People that have never lived in poverty will NEVER understand nor will they try to.. It's like telling someone sho doesn't have depression, what it's like. Some people assume that we are poor because of the decisions we make...not always true.. I was born into it and now as I have gotten older due to disability, etc. I am even more poor.. Poor people can't always get an education to better themselves.. Everyone has an opinion about this but nobody is really willing to help a person in need. They want to scream, welfare reform but nobody is focusing on how to "improve " the lives of others to get them off welfare.. I am on food stamps, etc. and I make $1 and they cut my stamps $5..plus my rent goes up.. How are we supposed to get ahead.. EVERYONE should live in poverty for at least 1 month a year and maybe it would help to change attitudes.. Unfortunately, they knwo that after 1 month..they will have it made again.. Those of us in poverty/low income live hour to hour 365 days a year..

First off, Ignorance and stupidity does not cause poverty. The most ignorant people I have ever met are the extremely wealthy. They have no idea about life outside their tax bracket.

Second, the only way to end poverty is to get rid of currency and go back to tribalism. When we looked out for more than just ourselves, we looked out for our community and every one tried their best to carry their weight.
