I understand that multiple universes have crept back into DC comics. I thought the Crisis got rid of them?

In the Crisis on Infinite Earths, the Anti-Monitor wiped out all the universes but one - or so I thought! Did he miss something somehow, and if so, won't he be back to finish the job?

He did, but after the DC universe merged with the Marvel Universe for a while, DC absorbed some of Marvel's universes and they now have more then 1 universe again.

The Anti-Monitor won't be back, because Hal Jordan (when he was Parallax) is the one who actually created the other universes when he did Zero Hour.

Even right after Crisis there were still alternate realities, and the much maligned Hypertime.

It was hinted during Grant Morrision's run on Animal Man that the multiverse was still out there.

The real recreation of multiple universes was the result of the Infinite Crisis, and the key people were:

Power Girl: The Earth II version of Supergirl, they tried to explain her existence away but during the Infinite Crisis it came out she was really from Krypton.

The Survivors of Crisis On Infinite Earths: Superman and Lois Lane from Earth II, the formerly good alternate version of Lex Luthor and Superboy from Earth Prime.

When Superboy and the Alternate Luthor plot to bring back the Infinte Earths they succeed bringing the DC Universe in nearly a full circle.

And it is as it should have been, the more worlds the more stories and the more fun for all.

I had the impression that DC sold all their alternate universes to Marvel, as Marvel suspiciously came up with Earth 616 the (supposed) mainstream Earth, Earth 1620 (for Marvel 1620), etc., just as DC was getting rid of them.

I hypothesize that “Alternate universes (or, ‘parallel worlds’, if you prefer) cannot be created or destroyed”, so the Anti Monitors efforts only succeeded in shunting them over the Corporate Barrier.

This is the exact same thing that Marvel and DC did back when Superman first ran into ‘Red Kryptonite’ after the DC reboot (The Krisis of Krimson Kryptonite).

Spider Man just COINCIDENTALLY gained additional powers, including strength enough to punch the Hulk into orbit, flight and life support necessary to get him down again, the ability to see things far away and through walls, etc.

Marvel later CLAIMED that these were the so-called ‘Captain Universe’ powers, which come from the ‘microverse’ (probably their in-house name for DC.) But it makes sense more that “Super powers cannot be created or destroyed, but can be transferred from one worthy person to another; and if they are ever transferred to an unworthy person, the transfer is only temporary, and the powers will revert to the original holder.” After all, we have seen examples of this in the comics before….

I don’t know if the Anti-Monitor will ever be back. He and Galactus would have made such a lovely couple….

This how it work's from what I under stand of his book.


For any "event", there is an infinite number of "possable out come's." Our chose's determen which out come's will follow. this is from making those said chose's.

But there is a theory in "Quntume physics", that all possablity's that can happen, "do happen" in Alternate "Quntume Reality's."


Which lead's to you having a Different life in number of different "Reality's" from the one you live in now. You may be a medical Doctor in one Reality and you may be a "psychotic killer" in a nother. You may have a sibling in one and you may be an only child in nother.

And you have a brother "fraternal" twin in one reality where you were not born in . but some how your bro repesent you some how. "But he's not you" hence the marvel universes "nate Grey" Effect"
cept in nate grey's case he not even really a twin at all, cause of the way he was born and the time of his conception.

unlike other's that are you and in other reality's like "captain britain " Doppelganger's or the one's of Gambit's that we have seen.

Only that bigger the multivers is the Omniverse. in the "Omniverse " there are more possablity's for Different out come's then there is for the "Multiverse." this what links the DC universe the marvel universe and the wild storm and maliboo universes to gether. and allows for those cross overs.

a nd these reality's run in corralation with our own most of the time. Unless you go there through "time travel"
