Due to the existance of a single horned creature in the cultures and legends of many areas of the world, scientists do believe that something that we now call the unicorn did exist. Most of the legends describe the animal as being more goat-like, and remains have been found of an animal that has one horn.
So yes, they could've existed, but no, I don't think they were the beautiful horses we think of.

My High Scgool mascot was the unicorns!!!!Seriously, we were the New Braunfels Unicorns. I personally saw a unicorn every pep rally and football game duitin high school.

Only idf someone straped something to their heads!!! ha ha We made our horses unicorns but putting carboard on thier heads and riding around for halloween!!! It was fun we painted the horns and everything

My friend strapped a horn to her horses head once, but her horse is red so I wasn't sure if you can call that a unicorn or not.

unicorns do not now exist nor is there any evidence of any ever having existed ouside the imaginations of 13 year old girls.
