Is it dialup or network? If it's dialup, all you need is a standard phone line and you simply plug it into the jack and then into your laptops phone modem (it's got the picture of a telephone on it). If it's a network, you need what is called a LAN (local area network) cable. You can buy them at BestBuy or any other major electronics store (and even now you can get them at Target). You just have to plug it into the LAN port (usually located RIGHT beside the phone jack). The LAN port is larger than the phone port (that's how you tell the difference ).

a general or universal
lead and connector
from lap top to cell phone
will suffice, long gone are the days
when device manafacturers could
insist(lack of choice) that their
product would only work with
their peripherals! if it fits both ends
properly buy it.not too cheap though
the old saying you only get what u pay for
still stands.most or any computer or cell phone
centre will have this common place lead.
if they range from say 10-25 pounds-dollars
if u can buy the middle price one about 15-20 pounds/dollars that will do the job and last a fair while.

If it's dial-up any regular phone cord will do the trick. If it's something else, like DSL, you need a LAN cable, which you can find in almost any electronics store.
