I'm not really sure what you are asking, but yeah you do need a passport. You first need to decide what you want to see when you travel to Canada. There are many different types of places. Every region has its own specialties and beauty. If you want to see mountains, go to the west. If you want to see prairies, go to central. If you want to see Niagara Falls, Toronto and such, go to Ontario or beautiful scenery in Northern Ontario. If you like the East Coast lifestyle, with fishing, ocean, highlands, and beautiful scenery, hit the east. My personal bias is with Newfoundland. The people are known for their hospitality. The ocean and scenery is amazing. The lifestyle is laidback and wonderful.
Well, whatever you decide, enjoy your trip to Canada and I hope you see and do what you want.

Best place to visit in Canada is the arid desert in South British Columbia. Most people don't know much about Canada but there is a lot of beauty. Traveling by air does need a passport now.

Newfoundland!
I definately reccomend it. it wont be your usual sun and beach vacation. In august (yes august) you can watch ice bergs come in. you can visit all the outport communities, highly reccomend it very welcoming people, its a very cultural experience and you learn a good deal as well. if your into the water, there are a lot of beaches ( it being an island and all) with beautiful landskaping. If you like to shop, St.. johns is the place to go, and all througout newfounfdland durring summer towns have festivals. This is definately the trip of a lifetime, beautiful, very cultural, wonderful learning experience, funn (with 2 "n"s)

hope you have fun on your travels, Bye!

I think you only need a passport if you are flying. If you are driving, you don't need one until 2008.
