Call the plumber, it is leaking! But, before doing that try this:
Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Date and Time.
Open Date and Time in Control Panel.
Click the Internet Time tab.
If, the Internet Time tab is not available if your computer is a member of a domain and the domain administrator needs to get involved.
Check the Automatically synchronize with an Internet time server check box.
Internet time synchronization updates your clock on a regular basis, but only when you are connected to the Internet. It takes just a moment and should not interfere with your work.

The battery on your motherboard is dying. To test for failing battery: set your clock correctly, then power off for at least 15 mins. At power up, your clock should be that far behind. Then go visit CheapGuys, buy a battery for a few bucks, and they'll tell you how to install it.

A couple of possible reasons.
Standard answer is - power issue.
Either your battery is flaky or your power supply is going out.
Computer's keep time based on an electric pulse created by the internal battery. therefore if this timing is damaged you will consistently lose time.
Another popular possibility is a virus.
best of luck!

Its simple, your clock battery has worn out. On the Mac it is reasonably easy to replace but im sure Mr. Gates and Intel et. al have all colluded to make it a real PITA for chenging a PC's clock battery.

If you are leaving your PC on, then the CPU is busy with other tasks. A virus is certainly a possibilty. Some program may have too high a priority.

it is the battery on the motherboard. you need to replace it. start by turning off your computer, unplug the power, open the case, touch the case to ground yourself and then change the battery, that will fix the problem.
