Ice it down and do it often. Elevate the foot. Take some motrin for the swelling if you are not allergic.
It's not going to heal in a few days, so be prepared for a long process. Keep in mind, the more you use your foot and the more you do not elevate it, the longer it will take to heal.
If it gets worse after a day or two and it is not improving, you may want to get it x-rayed.
You don't necessarily have to go to the ER. Nowadays, there are clinics, and or trauma centers that are open 24 hours and they can x-ray it there for you.
Hope you feel better.

I used to roll my ankles all the time. For the next 6 hours put ice on your ankle. 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off. Also take some Advil. This will help with the swelling and the pain. Avoid walking on it if you can. Use a Cane or crutches for a couple of days.
My guess is it's just a sprain. If the pain and swelling doesn't get better in 2-3 days then go to a doctor. For now I think it's highly treatable at home. Save your money.

It sounds like a sprain. Sprains will never heal if not cared for properly. You don't need to go to a doctor, but the pain medication might be worth waiting in the ER.
Elevate it and keep ice on it as much as possible (for weeks). If you have to walk, wrap it up well in an ace bandage or wear an ankle brace. When you can tolerate it, wear boots with tight lacings to protect your ankle from twisting and getting injured again. And take Motrin or something like it to reduce swelling and pain.

When you hurt your ankle the best thing to do is RICE.
RICE stands for rest, ice, compression and elevation.
Make sure you don't use the ankle too much so don't walk on it, put an ice pack or a pack of frozen peas on it to bring down the pain and swelling, wrap the ankle in an elastic bandage to give support and prop the ankle up on pillows whenever you apply ice or rest to minimize swelling.
Take some anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen and if your ankles state still hasn't changed soon or you think you may have broken it then see a doctor.
If you're ankle starts to heal, gradually introduce exercises back to you're ankle.

It depends on how you hurt it. did you twist it while walking or did you jump out a window? If you can move or flex your ankle it probably is not be broke. Wrapping it with an ACE bandage can help alot. Hot or cold packs may help also. You can never go wrong by having an expert examine it. Go to the doctor tomorrow if it is not feeling better.

If it's sprained, ice it, rest it, and keep it raised.
If, however, there is a break, then the sooner you see a doctor the better. Foot bones can be very fragile and will be painful if not treated righ.

Quit being silly and go see a doctor. They'll probably x-ray it and find that it's twisted or broken.
