as children develop psychologically, their dreams follow a pattern of growth in subject matter and sophistication. During children's first few years of life, they believe that dreams occur in the same world as their wakeful reality. Dreams are short, literal, and elementary (usually with only one image). As the child matures psychologically, the dreams become more complex, with more characters and a distinct scheme. Children frequently dream about animals, family members, and other children. They grow into their normal "nightmare phase" around the age of 6. Throughout childhood, their dreams often depict their persona being victimized.

I think some where she heard the word lying, and has no ideal of the meaning and its on her mind a lot.
also she may have heard someone taking about someone lying and was smart enough to pick up on the tone of there voice, and has put the to together and is trying to fig-er it all out and cant.

But the object that looks like a rope is scarring me a bit.
most of the time kids drams have something to do withe what happens to them when their a wake.

Like if someone threaten her and is holding an object in there hand and saying to her if your lying your going to get it.
That would scare any three year old.
she may not know it call a belt or it just may be some kind of rope.
ether way I'd look in to it good and fast.

I think more times then not kids have dreams/nightmares that have to do with there day time.
As we do.
She's three years old, she's trying to tell you the bast way she knows how.

It could be a permutation of something she saw in a TV show or movie, even a cartoon.

When I was around that age I used to have dreams about a ghost that was sort of like a floating mask of some sort that would just randomly show up. I was scared to death of it, but I never knew why.

Anyway, I turned out okay.
