Probably not. Not at garage prices - If you were to take the repairs on as a 'project' and u had access to free spares and tools etd maybe - but it would be a labour of love. Sounds fairly pricey anyway from your description - especially with the work required. Sorry but I think they saw you coming and you've bought yourself a lemon. Any chance they would take it back?? - Take someone with you next time who knows something about motors or pay for an AA/RAC report. It will save you money in the long run.

Well, if you're short on money, you have a great car to start with. Their fuel economy is in the range of 45-50 mpg. You'll never go past 20.00 filling this trinket up.
As far as repairs, the control arm you can get at any auto salvage yard. Just go to www.car-part.com for a part availability in your area. As far as the ball joint goes, buy one at the nearest auto parts store.
If you have money to blow, however, take it to a mechanic. Those parts are fun to repair, and I'm being facetious!
Ball Joints can run anywhere from 10.00-150.00 a piece
A control arm in my guess would run about 150.00...give or take another 100.00

That type of repair typically costs between $500 and $700. The car is probably not even worth that. Typically I would say junk it, but if it is reliable, in excellent condition aside and runs great, you may want to make the $500 investment rather than buying another car and making car payments.

it depends, if its a vehicle you'd like to keep for years to come, it is. but if it's just a get from point a to point b vehicle, I'd say no. because once you start putting new parts on older cars, the new parts speed up the wear on older parts... and when they get under the vehicle to repair what you've mentioned, they're probably going to find something new. trust me I spent $6000 repairing a 1970 buick I paid $650 for. and I got rid of it before it got up to $10k whew! so needless to say, if you're not a big affectionado of that model vehicle, I'd only fix what was absolutely necessary until you find a better vehicle.

had the same problem on my aspire and i went to junk yards to find the parts. turns out everybody has that problem because they were all gone, so i just ran my car with bad ball joints for another 30,000
and sold it to a friend and he still drives it. id just drive it if it dosen't annoy you that much.
